Organise your references into groups

In EndNote Library, the default Group is All References.

EndNote allows users to:

  • organise your references into Groups. Note: The same reference can be added to several different groups. The references deleted from a group will always remain in All References.
  • create custom groups into which you can manually drag-and-drop references..
  • create smart groups (including combination/combined groups) which are automatically updated as you add references to your EndNote Library.

Create smart groups using search criteria that you set. Any references currently in your Library or any future references that match the criteria, will automatically be moved to these groups.

  1. Go to Groups and select Create Smart Group.
  2. Type the name of the New Smart Group and set the search criteria you want.
  3. Select Create.
