Reports: key points

  • Use a clear structure with headings and possibly sub-headings
  • Be concise and clear 
  • Use shorter paragraphs than in essays; dot points are often acceptable
  • Carefully review task instructions to determine which parts to include e.g. executive summary, table of contents, recommendations, appendices
  • Consider including charts, tables, photographs or diagrams
