Research and Learning skills: Introduction

Overview

This guide offers a range of helpful resources on how to get started with assignments and improve your research, note-taking, essay writing skills and more. Simply choose an area of study from the tabs and drop-down menu lists above.

Library staff and Learning Advisors are available to assist students with any research or study related queries (see details below).

Library Staff

The Liaison Librarians provide some support with learning and study advice for all WAI students. We can help you with:

  •  Understanding assessment requirements and course work, e.g: Reading lists, Recommended text books, High demand resources etc.
  •  Some support with English language
  •  Research and referencing skills
  •  Computer skills and online learning
  •  EndNote
  • Turnitin

Students can:

  • Come to the Library Service Desk and ask for assistance from one of the Liaison Librarians (On-campus).
  • Email us: LiaisonLib@angliss.edu.au , for online or off-campus assistance
  • Make an appointment with the Liaison Librarians for one-on-one support either via email or the chat service: http://library.angliss.edu.au

Learning Advisors

The Learning Advisors provide a free learning and study advice for all WAI students. For example:

  •   Writing reports, essays or other assessments
  •   Understanding assessment requirements and course work
  •   English language, style and tone
  •   Research and referencing
  •   Time and study management
  •   Numeracy, finance and budgeting
  •   Studying for tests
  •  Computer skills and online learning

Learning advisors are available to work with students in the Library (LRC) Monday to Friday, 12.30-4pm. No appointment is required.
